Undergraduate Scholarship Application

Application Deadline

  • Online application form and photo must be submitted by April 1st.
  • All additional required application materials must be postmarked no later than April 1st. (Note: Recent changes to USPS practice no longer assures same-day postmarking. Mail early and/or present the mail for stamping at a post office window.)

Reminder: If you have received a scholarship from the Missouri United Methodist Foundation in previous years, you are no longer eligible for consideration.

Official Transcript

  • High School Seniors: You must submit an official high school transcript. (A copy bearing the official stamp of the school may be sent from the school office.)
  • College Freshmen or First-year Vocational Students (at time of application): You must submit an official high school transcript. (You may also submit an official college/vocational school transcript in addition to the high school transcript.)
  • College Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors or Second-year Vocational Students (at time of application): You must submit an official college/vocational school transcript only.
  • Home School Students: Please contact the Foundation office to discuss alternative documentation when a standard transcript is not available.

Standardized Test Score (ACT or SAT)

  • High School Seniors: Test score may appear on an official high school transcript or be sent to the Foundation directly from the ACT or SAT services.
  • High School Seniors: If you do not have a standardized admissions test score because you have been accepted to a school that does not require (test optional), please explain in your personal narrative statement.
  • College Freshmen or First-year Vocational Students (at time of application): Test score may appear on an official high school transcript or be sent to the Foundation directly from the ACT or SAT services.
  • College Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors or Second-year Vocational Students (at time of application): A test score is not required.

Confirmation of Church Membership

The applicant’s pastor must complete and mail (PO Box 1076, Columbia, MO 65205) the Confirmation of Church Membership form (view and print using button below) indicating the applicant is a full member of a United Methodist Church in Missouri, has been a member for at least one year prior to application, and is of suitable character to be considered for a scholarship. A couple of our scholarships are open to student members of non-UM churches with historical ties to the UMC in Missouri. Please note that on the form.

If the applicant is the child of his/her pastor, the page should be signed by an officer of the church or a peer pastor. (Church MUST be located in the state of Missouri.) Additional comments are welcome and may be added to the form.

Before You Begin Filling Out the Online Application

You must complete and submit the application all at one time. You will NOT be able to save the application and come back. If you quit before completing the application, you will have to start over again.

If you submit your application and determine changes or additions that need to be made, please call the Foundation office at 800-332-8238. Changes and additions cannot be made online.

You will receive an email confirming our receipt of your application once it’s submitted. Please retain the confirmation email for your records. If you do not receive an email, please call our office. Your application may not have been received by the Foundation.
